Hairdresser Dies in Car Fire in Çanakkale
Mehmet Özdemir, a hairdresser in Çanakkale, lost his life after the car he was in caught fire. Reports indicate he had registered his marriage two days earlier and his wedding was scheduled in 20 days, on 18 October.

The incident occurred on 27 September at around 03:30 near Karacaören village in Çanakkale’s central district. Citizens who saw a car with plate 34 GJ 6794 burning alerted the gendarmerie and fire crews. Firefighters brought the blaze under control in a short time.
Initial Identification and Procedure
After the fire was extinguished, a completely burned male body was found in the driver’s seat. Initial examinations indicated the body belonged to Mehmet Özdemir. The remains were sent to the Bursa Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsy.
Authorities stated that “an investigation has been launched regarding the incident.”
