Sad news about Nihal Candan; passed away at age 30
Nihal Candan, a former contestant on famous Turkish television programs such as “This Is My Style” and “My Style Is This,” has died at the age of 30. She had been undergoing treatment for an eating disorder known as anorexia nervosa.
Nihal Candan, who had been arrested along with her sister Bahar Candan on charges including money laundering and fraud, experienced severe psychological and physical issues during her imprisonment. Her weight dropped to around 37 kilograms, and after the diagnosis, she was released.
After her release, her physical condition not only didn’t improve but became even worse. Her weight gradually dropped to 30 kilograms and she was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition.
Nihal Candan, who was under intensive care at the hospital for a period, eventually dropped to a worrying weight of 23 kilograms. Despite the doctors’ efforts, her condition did not improve.
Her heart stopped twice; but she still couldn’t survive
According to reports, during her hospital stay, Nihal Candan’s heart stopped twice but was revived each time through medical intervention. However, her death was officially announced yesterday.

Family reaction: Mother and father fell into shock
Nihal’s mother, Umut Candan, had earlier stated that her daughter was facing a life-threatening situation and was connected to a machine to stay alive. Meanwhile, her father, Professor Dr. Hakan Candan, suffered a heart attack due to the emotional stress caused by his daughter’s critical condition.
